How does the competition week go for competitors? NEW figure pro Liv Roth made her pro debut in Orlando and we bring you everything as we spend the last few days with Liv and the crew (Hunter, Bryan, Demyya, Haley and Val).

Everything from low energy to holding back on "full send" training and the nerves and counterproductive thoughts that creep into a competitors mind are all part of the process.

Focus on what matters and what you can control.

Ivana Ivusic is a champion professional. What she brings to the stage is the sum of variables that she lets influence her mental and physical health. Here in this brief look in the last couple of weeks before the Chicago pro, she explains how she really honed in on what her body needed to improve.

"I focused on the off season as if it were prep. I never have had such an amazing offseason."

In addition to focusing on nutrition and training, Ivana also was keen on prioritizing what needed her energy and what didn't ie. her gym, team and work when zeroing in on peak week.

"Now that we really focused on the offseason, I am really excited to show you all what we have been working on."

If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life... Everyone has heard this saying when it comes to having a regular job and making a living doing what you love.

Martin Fitzwater is a step above that when it comes to bodybuilding. The "suck" as most competitive bodybuilders refer to it is not unpleasant for Martin.

First lets define what "the suck" is. This refers to the extreme zone of bodybuilding, pecifically when you FORCE the body to do what it does not want to, what goes against innate survival instincts and against the usual path of least resistance. For example, forcing food down during offseason. Eating is not a pleasure, it is part of the "suck." Literal force feeding yourself to build on what the increased stimulus from the heavier weights, more demanding workouts and building up you metabolism so that the shred process comes more efficiently. Next in this suck zone would be the diet process. This diet/shred process is not what would be considered healthy. Its purpose is to expose every striation in every muscle group and getting as close to skinless as possible.

Now that we have defined (more or less) what the suck is, we can explain that Martin wouldn't define it as the suck but the opposite i.e. "pleasure." This is what is actually enjoyable for Martin. So imagine that these processes of pushing food and pushing your body's ability to appear skinless and the pain associated with intense training are actually enjoyable, THEN you understand the extremes that are possible from Martin and people who shift their perspective like him.

Fresh off a flight and straight to Destination Dallas, Martin Fitzwater did not waste any time training chest and hitting a personal PR on dumbbell presses. Martin is set to compete at the 2021 IFBB Chicago Pro this coming July, so keep your eyes peeled for the shreds that are about to come.

What's the best way to always take two steps forward and no steps back? Eliminate excuses and distractions.

You have heard it many times over but, just like in bodybuilding, hearing and understanding the "reps" of "the only person holding you back in YOU" is crucial to your foundation of knowing what you really want to pursue in life. Once you truly know your why is when you cut distractions and excuses from your life without a second thought.

Olivia Gravengaard and Emily Miller link up for back training. They are both in the figure category, Olivia is making her professional debut here in 2021 and Emily is preparing to enter and National qualifier to later make her run at turning pro herself.

In usual Olivia and Luke fashion and with this particular Emily collaboration, they train and spell out the nuances in exercise selection and execution.

"Lat and back development in the figure division is huge." They discuss the importance of emphasizing lat development with laser focus on hitting lats with respect to function and range of motion.

Then Olivia and Emily get deep with their own definitions of what is "true bodybuilding" and when everything lines up, from nutrition and training to skipping weekend bangers and prioritizing regular sleep patterns, to make consistent and true progress as fast as possible.

How do you get to Carnegie hall? Practice a.k.a work.

Blindly working and not looking up to see either traction or progress is not a smart approach to anything. Guy Cisternino took a hard look at his approach to training and found there to be areas he could improve on.

Fast forward to teaming up with John Meadows and we get Guy Cisternino STILL training heavy with more exercises and volume BUT charging head first into the 2021 competitive season.

Here he gives a brief run down of all the lifts he does and the intensifier technique along with the other methodology of John's he is implementing in his leg training session.

Guy Cisternino - Leg Volume

Demyya Welch and Taylor Meholick can often be seen in Destination Dallas throwing massive weight around, yelling at each other to get those last few reps, and sharing big smiles at the end of each set. The two met only three months ago, but feel like they've known each other for three years.

"I definitely think everyone should have a person that they can rely on, that's another eye on their physique, that keeps an eye on their mentality, that keeps an eye on their actions, like anything and everything. It's just very good to have that extra person to lean on."

Samir Troudi is en route to compete at the Indy Pro and is focusing on what his physical strengths are.

"I would rather come in full and round which are my strengths than coming in looking depleted and like shit."

Samir has always walked to the beat of his own drum. He consistently receives feedback from the judges on what to improve in his physique namely his back and puts in the necessary work to make it happen.

Samir is looking to secure a qualification and travel to Orlando with the team and be on stage at this years Mr. Olympia.
